Self-confidence and willingness
When, at first glance, we were challenged to admit our defeat, most of us are outraged. We were AA came to teach us that confidence. Then we were told that in the field of alcohol, self-confidence was not an asset, in fact it was a total liability. Dominate the alcoholic obsession with our own will, it does not exist!

is when we try to conform our will to God's will that we begin to use it wisely. This idea was for each of us a wonderful revelation. All our troubles came from a misuse of our control. We tried our use it as a cannon to bombard our problems, instead of trying to match the intentions of God towards us.
The purpose of the Twelve Steps of AA is making this increasingly possible.
