School AMPERE Marianne Chanourdie us of the good works of the 2 lines Pédibus school. A collective journey is also in place for students in CM2. Mr Didier noted areas for improvement. SECURITY: Mr Marquerol involves municipal police near schools when necessary. Nathalie Mérand asked in the beginning of the school year because of uncontrolled parking on pedestrian crossings. Regarding security auxiliaries, they are 15 in number and are the responsibility municipal police. They are equipped with a STOP light and a cell phone (to notify in case of necessity).

PANELS PEDIBUS : Mr. and Mrs. Didier Drykonningen identified Pédibus panels. A small box will be added to indicate the name of the school.

COMMUNICATION: Ms. Mérand stresses the importance of communication parents + hall + school + Grand Lyon (storefront) to sustain and develop the Walking School Bus lines Caluire. Tuesday, October 5, we decided to go "visiting" a line Pédibus Edouard Herriot.
We were very kindly hosted by Claire and Olivier Rosset Station Bruyères. On this line
Pédibus, there are no children in the new subdivision 'L'Oree Caluire.
Crossing the path of their Crépieux posed problems: parents have organized a carpool.
Yet we found that a pedestrian crossing was clearly visible 50 meters below the subdivision.

Mr Gasket, assistant business school, former school principal, was present with Mr. Didier, Technical Director of the City of Caluire, accompanied by his assistant.

The route taken is pleasant, quiet, surrounded by greenery.
Arrival at the school by way of Poets is more crowded. Cars are undisciplined.
If motorists could take the children to their class, they would! Mr Didier
noted some areas for improvement.
At the beginning of the year the presence of local police was requested around schools so that motorists do not have bad habits, when parking on pedestrian crossings.
Although there is only 5 minutes is not a reason for evil to park and obstruct pedestrians.

As every year, Pédibus head back to school with pleasure.

The first day there were as many parents as children.

The Walking School Bus was quick and the laggards of the Ascent of soldiers (including myself) had to run for rattaper merry troop.

5 years on School Bus Caluire

Back on the history of the Walking School Bus in Caluire:

early 2005, the Grand Lyon offers a survey of the Home School Travel Plan (PDDE).
Children are encouraged to ask their parents about how they went to school 20 years ago.
The survey identifies those likely to walk to school on the same neighborhood.
The parents elected to have a software for analyzing results. Current
May 2005, a presentation of the results is made to parents in the presence of the municipality. The danger points around the school are discussed.

Interested parents have access to student data ready to come off to school district. They contact them by phone and launch an experimental line Pédibus.

After starting shy of 3 schools A group PDDE inter-school is created to pool the shares Pédibus and share with schools in integrating the municipality.
Today again, meetings are held to review the School Bus lines Caluire, on road improvements, the difficulties on joint actions.
This group allows to link the School Bus lines: it gives coherence to this Caluire sustainable development.

The balance after 5 years of Pédibus shows a clear awareness of students and their parents to avoid going by car to school.

In 2005, the investigation had established that 94% of children lived less than 750 meters from the school only 42% came on foot.
In 2008, children in the CME had a new survey 60% of children come off.
This means that the trend has reversed: today, more children come on foot or by car. It is very important for our environment but also for the safety of our children around the school.

Phew, it was not raining today for the car-free day on 10 schools caluirardes.

Almost all children came in soft mode to school: walking buses were full of children, scooters and bikes were out.
